5 Benefits of Using Design Manager Software for Interior Design
CJ Accounting3 comments Accounting Tips, Design Manger, Interior Design
1. Cloud Access
Much like other interior design software (like Studio WebWare, Designer Advantage, and QuickBooks), Design Manager is based in the cloud. That means that anyone on your team can access it at any time, from a Mac or PC. This is so important to staying efficient. Desktop applications are quickly becoming obsolete, and for good reason. The cloud is where it’s at.
2. One-Stop-Shop
Not only do you get the benefits of the cloud (like multiple users at a time, and unlimited mass-storage), but Design Manager offers features like calendar, time management / project management capabilities, vendor management, inventory management, and accounting features. It’s basically like having all the little back-office softwares and applications that drive you crazy, in one manageable and hassle free space. Knowing how to use it correctly will be the icing on the cake.
3. Accountant Friendly
Since we’re an accounting firm, this is our favorite bonus. A lot of interior design software shines when it comes to the interior design project management side, but comes up short in the accounting functionality. Much like QuickBooks, Design Manager software was created to make cloud-based accounting and bookeeping a breeze.
4. Inexpensive
Time is money, and Design Manager WILL save you time (again, if you KNOW how to use it). The price per user is only $35, with a slight price increase if you sign up for Design Manager Pro. We don’t recommend one software over another, but if Design Manager is the software you’ve decided to go with, the price is more than justifiable.
5. Help Exists
Unlike the giant pool of accountants and software experts that know and offer support for QuickBooks (so much that it’s hard to tell who actually knows their stuff), the pool of Design Manager software experts is a smaller, more manageable pool. The plus side, DM offers a list of Design Manager certified professionals on their website. It’s a great way to find someone remote, or in your area, that can help you learn the ins-and-outs of the software.
